How is Sociaal different from Patreon?

Sociaal is built for South Africa: you're paid in rands straight to your SA bank — no PayPal, no forex losses, no waiting on international transfers. Same memberships, plus link-in-bio, tips, and products in one page.

How do I get paid?

Cash out whenever you like once you have R100 or more. It goes straight to your SA bank account, in rands — no currency conversion, no international fees. Each cash-out has a flat R5 fee.

What does it cost to use Sociaal?

Creating your page is free. Sociaal takes 10% on memberships, tips, and product sales, plus the card processing fee charged by our payment provider (about 3.3% + R1.15 per payment). Cash-outs to your bank have a flat R5 fee. Every payment in your earnings shows the fees, so there are no surprises.

How do memberships work?

You create tiers with monthly prices. Fans subscribe and are charged monthly, unlocking the exclusive content you gate behind each tier. Start with a free tier and add as many paid tiers as you like.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Sociaal never stores card details. All payments are processed by a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor used by thousands of South African businesses. Card data is encrypted and never touches our servers.

Can I sell digital products?

Yes! Upload PDFs, photo presets, courses, ebooks, or any downloadable file. Set a price, and Sociaal handles payment and automatic delivery to the buyer.

What is the platform fee, and how does it compare?

Sociaal charges 10% on earnings plus local card processing (about 3.3% + R1.15 per payment). Compare: Patreon takes 8–12% plus payment processing, charges in dollars and pays out through PayPal, and Linktree doesn't do monetization at all. Sociaal is built for SA creators, so you don't lose money to forex or international transfer fees on top of everything else.
